Apparel Park in sector 29 is near our Solitairian project in sector 25 of YEIDA, Yamuna expressway

With new apparel cluster, Noida to emerge as a ‘fashion hub’, will create 5 lakh jobs: says Smriti Irani

NOIDA: Union minister for textile and women and child development Smriti Irani on Tuesday said five lakh jobs will be created as a result of an apparel cluster which is to be developed in the Noida region, and that her ministry will help the project. The minister’s statement was in response to Noida authority chief executive officer Ritu Maheshwari’s request that the district be developed into a “fashion hub”.

“Noida is a gateway to Uttar Pradesh and offers an environment conducive for development, growth and women empowerment. The apparel cluster will create 5 lakh jobs in the time to come and offer opportunities,” said Irani at an event organised at the Indira Gandhi Kala Kendra in Sector 6.

She distributed cloth bags as part of an initiative launched by the Noida Apparel Export Cluster (NAEC) to discourage the use of single-use plastic. The cluster has pledged to distribute one lakh cloth bags in the next three months across the district.

There are about 3,000 garment manufacturing units in Noida employing thousands. Apart from this, the state government has asked the Yamuna Expressway industrial development authority (Yeida) to develop an “apparel park” in Sector 29, located along the 165km Yamuna Expressway. The park will be developed right next to the site where the Noida International Greenfield Airport is going to be developed on a 5,000 hectares area. Officials said they are hopeful this park will boost economic growth in the region.

“The Yeida has started the process of land allotment to about 150 investors, who will invest ₹5,000 crore in the apparel park, to be developed in Sector 29 in the next three years. We will manufacture all kinds of garments and accessories, including buttons, yarn and other materials at these units,” said Lalit Thukral, president, NAEC.

The state government has designated Noida city into apparel category, said officials, adding it will boost the image of this industrial town.

Maheshwari said the authority is also mulling over establishing a “fashion street” so that the city can emerge as a fashion hub in times to come.

“We will develop and market Noida as a fashion hub for industrial growth and job creation,” said Maheshwari.

The fashion street can be developed on the lines of Paris fashion markets, officials said.

“We have proposed that the fashion street should have high-end fashion stores, restaurants and ramps. We want that people of all budgets come for food and shopping, and enjoy fashion shows frequently like it happens in Paris,” said Thukral.

Courtesy upcoming Jewar International Airport, Better Infrastructure, Low Rentals, Cheaper labour, Gautam Budh Nagar District sees 1st batch of 500 Industries shift from Gurugram to Noida. Many others will follow suit shortly

500 industry of Gurugram ready to shift to Sector 29 of Noida
Gurugram Nearly 500 industry entrepreneurs from Gurugram and Manesar’s auto, construction and garment exports are set to shift to Sector 29 in Noida. The entrepreneurs of these industries say that 80 percent of their employees are from other province. While the new law of the state government is to give 75 percent reservation in all private institutions to the youth of Haryana. In these circumstances, there is no other option but to migrate to UP in front of these industries.
That is why IMT Industrial Association officials went to Noida this week to explore possibilities. He has got a better for Noida’s Sector 29 in industry. The association argues that it is close to the sector Jabber. Also, the Yamuna Expressway is adjacent to the Industrial Development Authority. In the future, the International Airport is going to be established at this place. Freight corridor is coming out from nearby. All this will be better for these industries than Manesar and Gurugram. Whereas after six months, there will be pressure from the Haryana government to give jobs to 75 per cent of its youth. Which is not practical. Because the youth here are not technically trained for sewing for the garment industry. The people of UP and Bihar are the trend in this industry. Similarly, people of UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are also trending in the auto industry. This is the situation with the construction industry.

Manesar Tyagi, general secretary of the Manesar IMT Industrial Association, says that a team of entrepreneurs from all these trades has visited Sector 29 of Noida. This sector is good for these industries, on the basis of this, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh has asked for a time to meet Yogi Aditya Nath. A message has also been sent about this.
The entrepreneurs want the UP government to provide this sector in a good package for these industries. Also, if there is a package for electricity and other facilities, then there will be no problem in setting up the industry there. Because the current government is not making any changes in this law. Recently, on-line suggestions were sought, that too have been sent to the labor department. If the government does not withdraw this law, then there will be no other option but to flee.

Land rate to go up by 20% on Yamuna E-Way , says YEIDA
