The master plan of the proposed Noida International Airport at Jewar was sent to the Airports Authority of India on Tuesday. About a week ago the developer company Zurich Airport International AG submitted the master plan to Noida International Airport Company Limited. The master plan has been sent to the Ministry of Civil Aviation. Its technical testing is expected to take about a month.
Yamuna Authority Chief Executive Officer Dr. Arunveer Singh said that the master plan of Noida International Airport was submitted to Niall by Zurich Airport International AG last week. The developer company has prepared a four-phase master plan to the airport. It includes terminal building, commercial, hotel, office, education training center, cargo facility and vehicle parking etc. Apart from this, facilities for maintenance, repair, overhauling will also be developed. The Delhi-Varanasi high speed train station will be built in the terminal building itself.
Dr. Arunvir Singh said that Noida International Airport Limited does not have a team of experts to conduct technical examination of the master plan, so the master plan has been sent to the Ministry of Civil Aviation for technical testing. The master plan will return after testing. Then the Yamuna Authority and Niall will be placed on the board.
Delhi-Varanasi High Speed Rail Station to be in Terminal Building
Commercial space has been marked in the terminal building of this airport. A Delhi-Varanasi high speed rail station will be built in this building, so that passengers can easily travel between rail and airplane. This will be a unique airport in itself.
Will start with one runway and develop to six runways
Noida Airport will be developed on 1,334 hectares. It will be made in four phases. Two runways will be built in the first phase. However, air service will start in the year 2023 with a runway from the airport. Initially, 12 million passengers will fly from here.
Will become the largest hub of domestic flights
Noida International Airport will operate about 75 percent of domestic flights. This airport will become the largest hub for domestic flights in the country. There will also be reserve car parking at the airport. There will be activities of hotels, offices, training centers etc. in an area of 24 hectares. Apart from this, cargo facilities will also be available.
Will overtake Sri Lanka, Singapore and Thailand
This airport will also have the facility of maintenance, repair, overhauling (MRO hub) of the aircraft. The developing company will develop the necessary infrastructure for this facility within a time period of ten years.
